THIRTY TWO

Talking about having good help. How about this one. True Story. I have a friend (lets call him Ted) here who I run into at Why Not almost everyday. Occasionally, we also play golf together. (and please don't judge me by my friends especially this one). To be honest he is slightly weird as are many of the people I have met over here from countries other than the Philippines. However, I like and respect him because he knows what he wants and doesn't mask who he. One thing that stands out about him at least for me is he kind of looks like a huge human Baby Huey. Picture the kind of body below with a human head on it.

Baby Huey

It might be strange of me to say (and yes I am probably a weird person as well) but I would pay to see Ted wearing only a pampers/diaper with a pacifier in his mouth. I kid you not his body is like that of a huge baby.

Back to the story.....From Ted's actions here in Dumaguete there can be no doubt and it is no secret Ted enjoys the company of prostitutes and many nights will find him at the Tocino Food area, a known gathering place for prostitutes.

Now imagine this: Ted has found a maid/helper who cleans his house, washes his dishes, does his laundry, cooks his meals and gives him ...GET THIS... unlimited sex including head all for 375 pesos a day or $8.00 USD at current exchange rates. My understanding according to Ted is, a few weeks ago she was not really enjoying the sex anymore but then he gave her a raise to the current 375 pesos a day from 325 and apparently she is now more enthusiastic. I know, I know, I know but, I just wanted to share with you what is the reality over here Good or Bad. THIS IS THE REALITY HERE. I guess what many of the foreigners like best here is not being judged no matter how socially, politically incorrect or disgusting the activity might be except for one thing, that being involved with a minor. Well unfortunately that goes on as well for a price so I've heard.

Everyday I see foreigners sexually and romantically invloved with girls as much as 1/4, 1/3 and 1/2 of their age which in most other civilized countries would be considered almost obscene. Enough of this subject.

For most of the rest of May we continued to get settled in the house. We also got Joe ready for his new school. Weekends were spent going to El Dorado and swimming again and we did have a chance to have dinner with Mike and Palang a couple of times. Of course we have seen many of our old (literally) aquaintances/friends.

JUNE

June 4 - Joe goes to school for his first day. As it turns out the entire week was for orientation and academics don't start until June 12th.

June 8 - Saw Dr. Gumban. It was great to see him again. We talked about my current pains and he suggested I might want to consider quitting coffee as it is extremely acidic. I agreed and will start tomorrow LOL. I'm going to miss those coffee latte at Why Not and Starbucks. I also went for a bunch of blood tests and got the results later in the day. Seems everything is coming back pretty good and that can only be good news.

June 9 - It has been 8 months since I shot my 84 and literally the last time I played golf. Well, I finally played my first round today at Bravo

First Hole & Playing Friend Bob

and my game has gone completely back to shit. On a couple of holes I might have been better off throwing the ball to the hole but my hands hurt too much. At the end of nine I felt like I had a lot of work to do to get my game back on track but, it may require me going back to my old Wilson fat shaft clubs. These were the handicap clubs that enabled me to improve my handicap from 22 to a 17 for 18 holes on a good golf course. This improvement then provided me with the opportunity to get a more advanced set of clubs that would further aid me in improving my game and scoring which got my scoring down to where I was able to shoot that 84 or about a 15 handicap. On a more positive note, Ocacias my regular caddie is back carrying my bag, clubbing me, reading my putts and as an added feature.... now finding my OB balls. He still remembers my personal nuances which makes the game much more relaxing as I don't have to spell everything out to him as I would to a new caddie. He is also a very good golfer in his own right.

Ocacias - My Caddie (Died Jan 2010)

So in a nutshell, I am looking forward to getting my game and scoring back to where I left it off in Florida and try to improve on that. Since I left in August 2006 Bravo membership has gone up to 2400 pesos a month from 2000 and the dollar has gone down to 46 pesos from 52. Golf has gotten a whole lot more expensive. Now it cost me $52.00 a month for unlimited green fees. Wow, and my caddie fee has also gone up and I now pay $5.50 for 18 holes. Overall this is a 25% increase OUCH! LOL. Other news: Bert Bravo the owner of the Bravo Golf Duh!! decided in my absence to build an air conditioned church right behind the first tee. He knew of my love of all things religious (sarcasm) and he built it to spite me. Here is another only in the Philippines story. According to his assistant who I asked about the church he said Burt feels at 70 years of age his days on this planet are numbered and he wants to be closer to GOD thus the church. I suggested he might tell Burt when he sees him that God probably wouldn't be upset if he built us a freakin place for golf bag storage and perhaps a practice putting green as that might also help him get into heaven LOL. He said he will relay the message. Geez, I am such a trouble maker.
