FIFTY I thought it might be fun to do another series about things which stand out (as I did with religious organizations in Dumaguete). The series as follows is one showing the number of Gelaterias (ice cream parlor) I could photograph in one hour in the busy tourist area of the city (called the corso). Italians love ice cream beyond comprehension. Unfortunately, most of the Rome city buildings are now plagued by an epidemic of graffiti. Officials are lost as to how to stop it and it has created a major blight to such a beautiful city. It has as you can see affected some of the photos below as well.
The Italian Ice Cream Display Is Typically A Work Of Art In Itself I must have gone by at least 40 in the one hour, so this is only a fraction of them. What is even more incredible is there were almost twice that amount of coffee bars I passed in the same time frame. On
a personal note, I use to own an Italian Ice Cream company called
September 25 - I am back in Nettuno 2 days earlier than my intended return date. On top of this, I have made a decision to return to the Philippines (two weeks early) on the 3rd instead of the 17th of October. Frankly, I am a little bored here and I do miss Lynn and Joe. Yes it is great to see Mom and Marcello, Yes the food is great, Yes the weather is perfect and overall I am having a really nice time. About the only thing that might have changed my leaving early would have been my friend Steven showing up as he was supposed to. I haven't seen him in a while and it is always fun traveling with him. No doubt we would have gone around the country a little as he wants to live here six months of the year and needs to find a house to buy. However, since he didn't show up as he was supposed to so, I am going. Steven!!! this is all your fault!!! LOL In any event boredom or not it will still be a memorable trip all for the positive. Some of the things that will stand out for me on this trip. 1. Seeing how healthy Mom and Marcello are and how nice and fullfilling their lives are in this beautiful place; 2005
