FIFTY TWO OCTOBER 21 - 24 We are here in Manila. We came here specifically to do some tests to make sure Alex is okay. We met with a Dr. Borromeo who was referred to us by Ruby. She was just the kind of Doc I wanted, professional, no nonsense and to the point with humility. Anyway, she told us it was more or less too late to do anything about genetic disease or abnormalities that might be found through blood testing. She suggested that the ultrasound would reval most any abnormalities that might be external. Based on what she could see in the ultrasound she felt the baby was fine. We also got the benefit of seeing Alex's gender. Drumroll please.................................... AND IT'S A...........
GIRL!!! October 25 - December 8 Nothing much has happened during this time.We went to Cebu 3 times. I really like going there to walk the malls and having my starbucks coffee. We stay at the Waterfront Hotel on a regular basis now. I like it as it is conveniently located to both the malls and the Hyundai Dealer. On or about November 1st I had some really bad chest pains and went to Holy Child Hospital where I was admitted for the night. Turns out my INR was way to high so Dr. Denura reduced my Coumadin (blood thinning drug) from 7.5mg to 5mg a day. She also doubled my daily dosage of Coreg/Dilitend (blood pressure drug). Alomost immediately I felt better. Correction....I felt great. All my pains dissapeared as well. Amazing. I went to see Dr. Gumban and he suggested reducing my Medrol from 6mg a day to 4mg and then further reduce it in about two months to 2mg daily. Yahoo!!! Even
though I felt great after the medicine dosage modifications,
Dr. Denura suggested I go to Manila for an Angiogram to make
sure there were no arterial blockage issues.Well we ended up
going to Cebu first and as I was looking for a cardiologist
in one of the Hospital Medical Building, I saw that a Dentist
(Grace Lao) was right next door to the Cardiologist I found.
I had some pain in one of my teeth so figured what the heck
let me go see if she could help me. Luckily she was available
and saw me right away. Turns out I needed a cap and she did
the impression right there in the office. She also did a good
cleaning and told me to come back in a week which I did and
the cap was perfect and the pain was no more. Beleive it or
not Dr. Lao is one of the best Dentists I've ever had. 2005
