FIFTY THREE I left for Manila on the 5th. As it turns out my Brother-n-Law Ramon just had a major coronary himself on the November 2 just a day after my heart incident. He was in Calatagan for the holiday and had a major seizure which rendered him unconcious. Silvana brought him to the nearest hospital but, they were not equipped medically to deal with his condition. Turns out he needed the precise drug that saved my life. They didn't have it. I was fortunate enough to get it in the Batangas Hospital I was brought to as they had 3 doses. Ramon was not so lucky and by the time he made it to Makati Medical Center where he was able to get the kind of help he needed the 6 hour time limit had passed for it to be administered and the damage was done.
As you recall I had 25% permanent damage to my heart. Ramon's is more like 60%. Here it is December 9 and he is still in the hospital. He already had a double Angioplasty and now is starting cardio rehab. One full month was spent just in ICU. Two weeks now in a regular room. Anyway, I spent about five days in Manila mostly hanging with Ramon in ICU. I was recommended a Makati Medical Cardiologist Dr. Martinez for my Angiogram but after seeing him and discussing, I made a decision not to do it. It is evasive and I felt perfectly fine so why create potential complications. I got an email from Ramon yesterday and he is starting cardio rehab with the same very cute physical therapists I had. He said they remembered me. I guess they had to as I was flirting with them all the time. I am sure he is doing the same Lynn and I have decided to go to Manila on the 21st and spend Christmas with Georgie and family. First we will go to Cebu where I will have a deep scaling on my crappy gums. We will also be bringing Joe so he can catch a plane to Davao where he will visit until January 5. We will return back to Dumaguete on the 27th and spend News Year here, then go back to pick up Joe in Cebu on the 5th. I started back to playing golf again in Mid November. I have managed to bring my golf game back somewhat but have a long way to go. I can't seem to remember my swing and I find myself opening my club face a little on the swing through and thus fading the ball to the right. I am playing at Pamplona on Monday and Friday and then Bravo Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. I have a new group I am playing with now and they are so funny but more importantly a good group of guys on the surface.
From Left to Right: Wayne, Bob, Don, and Wiley. It
is so much fun playing with these guys. Our personalities could
not be more different. That's what the Philippines does, it throws
people together that would normally not socialize in anyway shape
or form. Wayne 57, runs an ATV touring company in the mountain
area of Dumaguete, he is miserably married with 3 kids, he's fat,
has high cholesterol and blood pressure, smokes cigarettes, drinks
a lot and is an avid Bush conservative. I kid with him the entire
18 and he is so funny. Bob is married to a Filipina but,
his wife is in the states working. She just had a baby with another
man there but she and Bob still get along real well. He now has
more leverage with her which reflects in the high number of care
packages she sends him LOL. Bob seems to prefer the company of working
girls in their early 20's to a serious relationship. He always has
a grin on his face. i wonder why LOL
