SIXTY SIX February 28 - I heard some very disturbing news from my friend Steven yesterday. A girl I was involved with back in 1995 and lived with for a couple of years just lost her fiancee to suicide. After we broke up in 97 she started going out with Marc and they have been together ever since for the better part of 10 years up until now. He was a nice guy at least what I knew of him. My heart goes out to Doris. She is a great woman and I only hope she can find love and happiness again after Marc. Rest in peace Marc.
February 29 - Hey everyone this is Leap Year. Played golf today at Pamplona if you want to call it that. More like pool as my ball seemed to be confined to rolling on the ground most of the time. Most of the holes I just took an X which means I hit too many shots on a particular hole to even justify a score. I played with a group of about 10 guys. They are regulars playing Wed and Friday and it was real fun playing with them. Looks like this will be a regular 2x weekly event.
We will be leaving to Davao on the 18th from Cebu but will go to Cebu two days earlier on the 16th so I can visit the American Consulate Satellite office there in order to get some help with Alex's papers for citizenship. I hope that goes well. You can't imagine how excited I am to be moving to Davao. Finally a place in the Philippines that can offer me the best of all worlds from a Philippine standpoint.
Even though Alex is only three weeks I have decided to play music all throughout the day even while she sleeps, and different types of music at that. For now mostly Andrea Bocelli, Three Tenors, James Taylor, Enya, Mark Anthony. When she is a couple of months I will introduce language tapes at night. I am thinking about chinese and possibly spanish as they are the two dominant languages on the planet aside from english of course and will be important assets to her in the world she will be growing up in. I do hope she becomes multi-lingual and eventually includes Italian, French and Arabic in her portfolio. March 8 - Nothing much new to report. We are slowly packing up the house. Alex is still the cutest but no new tricks. Her eyes are open most of the time now and she seems to stare into space but not at anyone or anything in particular. Oh she does seem to be able to hold the bottle in her hands while drinking. I used to think watching fish in an aquarium was the most mezmorizing thing for me. I could stare at that for hours on end and not know how much time expired. That is now matched by watching my daughter sleep. She looks so peaceful, beautiful and innocent. And she smells so good. It is a very wonderful and special smell that seems to only come from babies. 2005
