SEVENTY TWO

April 14 - Left Davao mid morning on Air Philippines and arrived Manila around noon time. Lynn is right in that Cebu Pacific is really the only good domestic airline as both Air Philippines and Philippine Air both suck. Carling, the driver of Georgie was at the airport to meet us and take us to Makati where we would stay at Georgie's place. After getting there I immediately headed to the malls. That night Glory showed up to say hello. Another nice surprise was Didit (Sister of Georgie). I haven't seen her in years and she is over here for a brief visit. She is always the life of the party and she is bubbly as ever.

April 16 - Went to the US Embassy. Our appointment went smoothly but a couple of questions required some deliberation by the consulate. Specifically dealing with Alex's formal name which we wanted to be Alexandra Victoria Richard. Unfortunately they would only be willing to allow Alexandra Victoria Richard Augenstein which is what is on her birth certificate. We now have to do is do a legal name change back in the States. We will most likely do this in August when we go back for a few months.

April 18 - Today I went to St. Lukes hospital to have a memory test. They actually have a center in the hospital that specializes in memory disorders. I think I mentioned before about my memory challenges...LOL To repeat, I am having significant problems specifically with my short term memory. I have trouble remembering events, faces and even discussions as recent as the day before. For example, I have had hour long conversations with more than one person and then when I see them a short time later (perhaps days) I do seem to think I've seen them before but can't remember anything especially having a conversation with them. Scary huh!!! I also struggle with my beloved vocabulary. I just can't seem to find the words when I need them, About the only thing I still have a good memory for are numbers and money so please don't try and tell me I owe you money ha ha ha. I'd remember!

I am convinced that this is all related to the many drugs I am taking for my Lupus and Heart condition. We shall see.

The test lasted about 5 hours and consisted of tests surrounding my memory of a story read just a few minutes earlier to over 30 minutes earlier. This also included drawings and other things I JUST CAN"T REMEMBER NOW. They also included a IQ test. The results will be out on the 23rd.

April 21 - Georgie arrived around 8:00am and she looks very good. Georgie was in Los Angeles where if you can believe it, was visiting a good friend of hers who is heading off to jail for at least two years. Managed to take a photo of both her and Lynn together.

That's a first. Also, here is a shot of a present Georgie got for Alex. It is one of those dangling toy things that is specially made for infants. Alex loves it already.

Mid morning Lynn and I went to the Canadian Embassy where I am pleased to announce Alex officially became a Canadian Citizen today. She should receive her Canadian Citizenship card in about 3 months. We still have to apply for a passport for her after we get the card. Most likely we will have to rush it as we are planning to go to both Canada and the USA in late July.
