EIGHTY ONE May 22 - A friend of mine from Manila has come over to visit with his girlfriend Jen.
Scott is from California and Jen is from just north of Davao. They have been together a couple of years now and live most of the time in Manila when they aren't traveling around. I met Scott in Manila when I first arrived. Can't remember how though LOL. They will be staying until Saturday. The plan is to go visit various sights around the city including Samal Island. We will be doing this on scooters. I will probably hang with them the first day and let them have their own fun for the rest of their trip which ends Saturday. Today we went off to a couple of places. First was a new sub-division called Mercedes located about 20km south of the city. It offers beautiful views of the Davao Gulf and Samal Island. Lot prices were about 5000P per sqm. After that we made a quick stop here at the house to say hello to Lynn and then off we went to the Apo Eagle Reserve and the Malagos Garden Resort. It was about a 45 minute ride many of them behind diesel belching trucks nevertheless, for first time visitors here it is a must take trip. There are some amzing Eagles and plant life. We ended the day with a brief look at another sub-division called Las Terrazas. It is my favorite sub-division in Davao. Scott and Jen then headed to their hotel and will be going to Samal Island tomorrow. They have a reservation at Paradise Beach Resort which is one of the better ones on the island. They plan on spending most of their time there touring the island on the scooter. On the other hand I will be playing some golf and then helping out with a party we are throwing for Joe. Most of the family will be there. 2005
