EIGHTY EIGHT June 20 - We are slowly planning for our trip to the States where a new chapter in my life might start yet again as we might consider staying there for at least six months of the year if not longer. Can you imagine it is almost exactly 3 years after I arrive here in the Philippines. In this time I go through a major illness and then shortly after meet a woman who I love and makes me so happy, her 15 year old son Joe who I see as my own and then of course incomparable Alex. Life is good and I have to say I am a very fortunate person.
As
I mentioned previously on this blog, the Philippines is a haven
for pirated DVD's. Many of the new release popular movies tend to
come out on disc here within days and weeks of their theatrical
release and of course I watch them. I am looking forward to watching
Hancock, Hulk, Happening, Indiana Jones and few others that should
be out in the next few weeks. Also there are literally all the popular
TV shows. Name the show and you can find every season of it. I actually
prefer this way than watching an episode a week as they do in the
states. So recently I have dived deep into some of these shows.
I recently watched Season 3 and 4 of Entourage; Season 3 and 4 of
Grey's Anatomy; Season 4, 5, and 6 of 24; and Season 3 and 4 of
House. It's been great. Oh, and for the record, I don't buy them.
I just watch them. My understanding is if buy them, that would be
considered illegal. It's kind of amazing how much work goes in to
packaging these DVD's . They have authentic covers you would probably
see on an authentic movie. Here in the Philippines pirated DVD movies sell for about .90 cents and one to multiple full seasons of a television show for about $1.10. 2005
