NINETY FIVE

So we go to visit Tagaytay with Robin who is a Diaz family nephew but sort of out of the loop and doesn't really care for gossip. He is a builder and an architect and would be a perfect fit if we were to successfully buy a property there. Well we go to Tagaytay and look at a bunch of properties and low and behold we find something we like and to make a long story short decide to make and offer. It is now the end of January and nothing else develops with the passports so we go home to Davao on January 20.

Well what happens next really throws me for a loop. Apparently this thing with Georgie really set Lynn off and when she gets pissed you really don't want to be in her crosshairs. Now even though I have more or less put the Diaz family out of my life I still know that someday it will all blow over and life will return to normal and we will be friends again. Well I thought that until Lucy starts things off with texts Lynn about needing to still pay for my Health Insurance and that we owe $200 for that. So we send the $200 money to Lucy and I figure all is well and we are done with them.

Right after that I start getting emails telling me I am a deadbeat and how could I do all these things to Georgie and not pay her for our stay and on and on and on. I went like what the F are you talking about. (Now in truth I don't handle the money any longer. It is not my Country and it is easier for Lynn to pay bills and do the money management and frankly it is just easier for me to give her the money to deal with stuff on a daily basis. In fact I get a daily allowance from Lynn for my golf and coffee which are the extent of my expenditures). So I was shocked to hear from Aurora that we still owe Georgie $1,150 for our stay as we didn't pay them anything except for the $200 for my health insurance (we had just wired Lucy) and $125 from earlier in our stay. So I call Lynn on the carpet about this and low and behold they are right and Lynn did not pay them other than the $200 for the Health Insurance and the $125 from earlier in our stay.

Apparently, after the problem with Georgie in December Lynn was extremely pissed and just decided not to pay them anything else. Of course I got on Lynn about this as my integrity was on the line and I would never screw the Diaz family out of anything they were entitled too especially money for our staying there. I am was really pissed off at Lynn for putting me in this situation regardless of her issues with them. It just wasn't the right thing to do and we have agreed that if I should ever patch things up with the Diaz she will not be a part of it and I am okay with that. It seems no matter what culture you are there is always issues with in-laws and ex's....reminds me of that Rodney King saying "Can't we all just get along" ......Apparently not.

So I did a calculation on what we should actually be paying for our stay and it came out to only $425 total for the almost two months. That's a long freaking cry from $1,150!!! Yes I know it is a ridiculously low amount but that is what it came out to and since we had already paid them $125 technically the amount owing was only $300. So now I am wondering what they are bitching about and how they came up with a huge number like $1,150!!!!. Remember we were invited to stay and cover actual expenses incurred and the $425 was the actual expense incurred.

I then reviewed it and there was no doubt we were being exploited by Georgie. She had us paying like all the bills of her household for the two months including the full salary of her useless, complaining helper Nina who we didn't even use. Oh yea, I should mention Lynn owed a couple of the helper girls about $85 so all in all our total obligation came out to $385 taking into account the owing to the helpers. I wrote back to Aurora basically telling her where she could go and that she was out of her mind asking for $1,150. I then spoke to Lynn about it and said look lets just send them $850 and make them go away. This is $465 more than what we really owed them based on actual expenses. Lynn reluctantly agreed but only for me, as I just wanted all this shit to go away.

In retrospect I am actually glad Lynn didn't pay them originally because if she had, she would have been overpaying them dramatically. As it is we still paid them too much but I don't want anything hanging over Lynn or myself. Good luck with that right! And to do one even better I told them we would even replace Georgies computer with another one.

So now I feel at ease with everything. They got their money..actually more than they were asking after all was said and done and they will get a replacement computer as well. Then about two weeks later out of the blue I get an e-mail from Patsy (Georgies Sister) and then just the other day one from my own sister Stacy telling me I am a deadbeat and how I could do such a thing to Georgie and why would I steal Georgies computer, etc...... and that she never wants to see me again. No doubt my Dad who is close to the Diaz family will follow and I am cursed with this stigma totally without merit!!! I really don't want to have to start telling everyone my side (aside form here) as it is going to be a losing battle so you know what... SCREW THEM ALL. I have had it. I really mean it. Not to sound like a cry baby but with my "Lupus" a bad "Ticker"and I don't need this stress in my life so AGAIN screw them all. But the damage is still done, the deadbeat rumors about me persist, and there will be a stigma on my head without merit for a long time to come. To me Georgie, Aurora, Patsy and Pempi and even my idiot Sister are nothing but the C__T word personified and I really don't know if I could ever forgive them for this. This might sound really callous, selfish, psychotic, whatever but I really don't give a shit about anyone else except for Lynn, Alex, Joe and a couple of friends I still have and my Mom on and off LOL depending on my mood and what new news she decides to hit me with on any given day.

The truth is I have never been really close with my Sisters. Sad right. Hey it's my cross to bear. Anyway, if it happens that it ends badly and sadly then so be it. I mean all this for $385. Can you believe it. Yes I know I am guilty here as well not making more of an effort but honestly the way I feel now, none of this is worth the effort on my part to fix. The balls in their court.

So back to the present. The good news is we are now very close on getting all the Passports. Lynn received her Canadian Passport about a month ago and now all we need is Joes. Lynn also reacquired her and Joes Philippine Citizenship and Philippine Passports and Alex got one too. We have decided to wait until we get to Canada to get Alex her Canadian Passport. Apparently Canada has granted her citizenship but her citizenship card won't be ready for a couple more weeks probably after we have already left.

More good news is we should be closing on that Tagaytay property this week as well. So the plan is to go to Manila this week to get Joes Passport and close on the property. If successful we should be on our way to Canada by the end of the month or early June the latest. Yes I know I have said this before LOL

So to wrap things up for the missing ten months. Life has gone on. Lot's of golf for me, a trip to General Santos City, laughter, joy watching Alex grow up. In fact here are a list of her feats:

1. She can dance 2. Brings me my shoes; 3. pretend to put on moisturizer; 4. eat her own food 5. Identify things she is asked 6. understands to a degree both English and Tagalog 7. pretends to exercise doing push ups, sit ups, weight lifting 8. is a very independent thinker 9. falls down and gets up without crying 10. is very observant 11. a fast learner 12. a great entertainer and a total joy to watch and be around!!!
